Flight Simulations 101
Discipline: Flight Mechanics
An introductory video that provides an overview of the core concepts of flight simulations aimed at those new to the field. The physics, mathematics, and numerical methods involved in flight simulations are overviewed.
About the Speaker:
Carlos Anthony Natividad is a pursuing a Master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He enjoys exploring various topics such as aircraft design, optimization, and numerical methods. Carlos interned at NASA Ames in the summer of 2023 to learn about flight simulations and collect best practices. Under the mentorship of Dr. Sarah D’Souza and the experience offered by subject matter experts across the agency, he scripted, recorded, and produced an introductory video to flight simulations and provided a framework for how to give early career employees an overview of how to develop flight simulations.
