Orbital Case FULL: ISS Responding to All Effects
Orbital scenario FULL tests an idealized International Space Station undergoing all check-case effects. These effects are an 8x8 gravitational model, gravity gradient turned on, third-body effects from the Sun and Moon, density computed by the MET model [1] , aerodynamic drag, and a highly elliptical orbit.
Constants and Models
This scenario uses an idealized International Space Station vehicle model, specified here. The MET atmosphere model defines atmospheric properties based on time, position, and solar effects specified here. The gravitational model order used was an 8x8 gravitational model, specified here. The geodesy model used for this scenario is the WGS-84 rotating model, specified here.

Errata
Below is the list of erratum that are relevant to changes made on this page that no longer match the report. The full list can be found on the Home Page.
[1] Page 91, Paragraph 5, change “Constant aerodynamic drag as check-case 6B” to “Density computed by the MET model as check-case 6B” since 6B uses dynamic density instead of constant and also matches the delivered results: Volume II Report ↩︎
[2] For each orbital IC table with the Atmospheric Model enabled replace Ap with ap: Volume II Report ↩︎
[3] Pages 70 through 92, Tables 47 through 72, row 9, column 2 each scenario that specifies an initial inertial pitch rate of -0.065 deg/s should be either -0.06499944198233 deg/s for “Nearly circular” scenarios and -0.06429904441202 deg/s for "Highly elliptical" scenarios to match the precision of the data provided: Volume II Report ↩︎
